Renée Hunter

Renée oversees, manages and delivers a global portfolio of innovative gender and business projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards. She works with impact investors and ecosystem actors to design technical assistance facilities that support small and medium enterprises, investors and entrepreneurial ecosystem actors to take a gender lens to their day-to-day work. She has also led and delivered multiple projects focused on start-ups, enterprise support organizations (ESOs) and fintechs.

Renée brings to her work a background in financial and digital inclusion, innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems, along with a passion for supporting women’s empowerment. She has previously worked with Cenfri as Project Lead for the i2i Facility in South Africa, as well as with Divitel in the Netherlands. She holds degrees in International Relations from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She also holds a master’s degree in Development Finance from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.
