Sophia drives project implementation and management for Value for Women advisory projects. She is a versatile and resilient professional, bringing a global perspective to problem-solving and communicating with diverse stakeholders, and has a proven record of ensuring high-quality, measurable results are achieved for Value for Women clients.

Sophia has delivered on multiple projects that provide gender technical assistance to enhance the capacity of small and medium enterprises, investors and financial institutions. She has also contributed extensively to research projects undertaken by the organization.

Prior to joining Value for Women, Sophia spent over eight years in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia focusing on various gender issues, including financial inclusion, education, gender-inclusive business practices, value chain development and gender-based violence.

She has expertise in working with diverse teams in non-profit and private organizations, has co-authored an implementation manual for the World Economic Forum’s Responsible Mineral Development Initiative, and has spoken on panels for small and medium enterprise lending in Nigeria.

Sophia holds a Master of Public Administration in Gender and Management from Columbia University in the United States.
